Empowering Mythological Archetypes: A Spring Introduction to the Tarot
With Laura Zuspan
In this all day immersion, we will learn the meaning and symbolism of the entire 78 cards of the Tarot deck, providing a foundation for a beginning reader. We will cover how to use the tarot for meditation and manifestation, then introduce several tarot spreads. We will learn the basic structure of the Tarot, illuminating the differences between the major and minor arcana (secrets), learn how to develop intuition (grounding and channeling), and develop skills in ethical reading. Along with a lecture-based class we will convene as a salon, learning to read for each other with professional insights from the teacher.
Laura Zuspan is an artist, mother and seer. She is the creator of Luminous Void Tarot, teaches classes and salons on Tarot and has a private reading room in Oakland, CA. Magic and art are her guiding forces; what most interests her in these realms are transformations in consciousness. Her artistic and intuitive practice is to facilitate collaborative healing ceremonies, ritual awakenings, and the development of inner vision to feed and inspire the spirit. She received her BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute and has shown her art internationally. She has studied Buddhism at Insight Meditation Center, Green Gulch Farm Zen Center, Wat Phra That Doi Suthep in Thailand and trained at the Niroga Institute in yoga outreach. Influenced by the work of Joanna Macy, Linda Montano, Angeles Arrien and Dipa Ma, Laura is interested in shifting the way we understand ‘Tarot’ into a functional and ethical tool for individual insight and empowerment.
